EMOTIONALLY INTELLIGENT

If I could go back in time, I’d tell myself that it’s not about trying to control emotions, but about how we react to them. Emotions are a natural part of being human, and they shape the way we experience things and make decisions. Instead of trying to hide or ignore them, it’s better to just accept and embrace them without being too hard on ourselves.

Yoga can really help with managing our reactions to emotions. When we do yoga, we do all these physical postures, focus on our breath, and practice mindfulness and meditation. It helps us become more aware of our bodies and how emotions show up physically. With this awareness, we can recognize and acknowledge our emotions without judging ourselves. The breathing techniques we learn in yoga also come in handy when we face challenging situations. They help us stay calm and think before we react impulsively. This way, we become better at handling our emotions and choosing how we respond.

And guess what? Yoga isn’t just good for our emotions. It’s great for our physical health too! It releases those happy chemicals called endorphins and helps us relieve stress and tension in our bodies. When we feel physically relaxed, our emotions tend to follow suit. So, when we integrate yoga into our lives, we not only become more self-aware and emotionally intelligent, but we also feel better physically. It’s a win-win situation!
